Museo Picasso Málaga: what to see and how to skip the line

Pablo Picasso was born in Málaga in 1881, and the Museo Picasso Málaga in Palacio de Buenavista holds 233 works donated by the family — paintings, ceramics and sculptures across every period.

Tickets. €12, free the last two hours every day. Buy online at museopicassomalaga.org to skip the queue in summer.

Don't miss. Olga Khokhlova with Mantilla (1917), Mother and Child (1921–22), the late ceramics from Vallauris.

Combine with. A 5-minute walk to Casa Natal de Picasso in Plaza de la Merced — the apartment where he was born, with family photos and early sketches. €3 entry.

Time. Allow 90 minutes for the museum, 30 for the birthplace.
