If it's your first time in Málaga, three areas cover everything you'll want — and they're exactly where we have apartments.
Centro Histórico — best overall. Walk everywhere: the cathedral on your doorstep, marble shopping street Calle Larios at the corner, and the city's best dinner scene around you. Some streets get lively on weekends, so pick a quieter side street like Calle Pozos Dulces or San Juan de Letrán for sleep.
Cruz de Humilladero — best for value and local life. A real, lived-in Málaga neighbourhood just west of the centre. Tree-lined avenues, everyday tapas bars, and great metro and train connections (María Zambrano station is here, so you're 10 minutes from the airport and a short ride to the beach). Perfect if you want a calmer base with full city access.
El Palo — best for beach and seafood. The old fishing quarter on the eastern coast. Wake up to the Mediterranean, walk straight to a chiringuito for espetos de sardinas, and ride a bike along the seafront promenade back into the centre in 20 minutes. The most relaxed of the three.
Which one suits you? Centro for a classic city break, Cruz de Humilladero for value and authenticity, El Palo for sea and slow mornings.
